William James Adams Jr., meglio conosciuto come will.i.am, è un rapper, cantante, produttore discografico e imprenditore statunitense nato a Los Angeles nel 1975. Cresciuto in un quartiere difficile, si appassionò alla musica fin da giovane. Nel 1992 entrò nel mondo del rap grazie al brano "Merry Muthafuckin' Xmas" dell'EP di Eazy-E "5150: Home 4 tha Sick". Nel 1996 fondò i Black Eyed Peas, gruppo musicale che ha raggiunto fama mondiale con successi come "Where Is the Love?", "Let's Get It Started" e "I Gotta Feeling". Oltre al successo con i Black Eyed Peas, will.i.am ha pubblicato tre album solista: "Must B 21" (2001), "Songs About Girls" (2007) e "#willpower" (2013). J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
