The National est un groupe américain de rock indépendant formé à Cincinnati en 1999. Le groupe est composé de Matt Berninger (chant), des frères Aaron et Bryce Dessner (guitare), Scott Devendorf (basse) et Bryan Devendorf (batterie). Connues pour leurs mélodies mélancoliques, leurs paroles introspectives et leurs arrangements orchestrales, The National ont atteint une grande popularité depuis les années 2000.
