Leaders of the New School sont un groupe de hip-hop américain formé à Uniondale, New York, composé de Charlie Brown, Dinco D et Cut Monitor Milo, tous originaires d'Uniondale, et du rappeur Busta Rhymes du Brooklyn. Le groupe a commencé sa carrière en ouvrant pour le groupe de hip-hop Public Enemy, avec Chuck D qui a donné à Busta Rhymes et Charlie Brown leurs noms de scène. Leur style musical est caractérisé par un flow agressif et des paroles incisives, influencés par la culture rap des années 90. Parmi leurs chansons les plus représentatives figurent "Passin' Me By", "Release Your Mind" et "A Little Bit of This".

J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
