Drive-By Truckers est un groupe américain de musique country alternative basé à Athènes, en Géorgie. Bien que trois membres sur six (Mike Cooley, Patterson Hood et Shonna Tucker) soient originaires de la région de Shoals dans le nord de l'Alabama, le groupe a des racines profondes dans la scène musicale du Sud des États-Unis. Leur son est caractérisé par un "three axe attack", c'est-à-dire trois guitares en plus de la basse et de la batterie. Comme beaucoup d'autres artistes de country alternatif, les Drive-By Truckers enregistrent en analogique (en utilisant des bandes de 2 pouces). Contrairement à la majorité de leurs contemporains, ils ont cependant constamment encouragé leurs maisons de disques à publier également leurs albums au format vinyle.
