Gorillaz est un projet musical collaboratif né de la rencontre entre Damon Albarn, chanteur du groupe Blur, et l'artiste Jamie Hewlett, créateur de Tank Girl. Le projet met en scène quatre personnages animés : 2D, Murdoc, Noodle et Russel, qui forment un groupe de hip-hop virtuel. Les clips vidéo des Gorillaz mélangent animation, réalisme et design sonore, explorant les thèmes de l'artifice et de l'authenticité dans la musique. L'idée pour Gorillaz est née d'une observation de MTV et de la prise de conscience que la majorité du contenu était artificiel et créé uniquement pour la consommation. Au cours de leur carrière, ils ont collaboré avec des artistes comme De La Soul, Snoop Dogg, Lou Reed et Elton John, contribuant à définir l'esthétique et les sonorités du rock indépendant contemporain. Parmi leurs chansons les plus représentatives figurent "Clint Eastwood", "Feel Good Inc.", "DARE" et "On Melancholy Hill". J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
Le film très critiqué «Musique» de Sia qui voit son début en tant que réalisatrice vient d'être nominé comme meilleur film au Golden Globe 2021. L'actrice principale Kate Hudson a été nominée dans la catégorie Meilleure actrice.
