Kukl était un groupe musical islandais actif des années 1980 aux années 1990. Fondé en 1983 par Birgir Mogensen, Björk et Einar Arnaldur Melax, le groupe s'est distingué par son son expérimental qui mélangeait des éléments de musique électronique, post-punk et noise. Parmi leurs albums les plus connus figurent "The Eye", "Holidays in Europe (The Naughty Nought)" et "Songull". Kukl a participé à de nombreux festivals de musique européens et a collaboré avec des artistes comme The Sugarcubes. Le groupe s'est séparé en 1990, laissant derrière lui un héritage de musique innovante et influente.
