Les Goo Goo Dolls sont un groupe de rock américain formé à Buffalo, New York en 1986. Composé de John Rzeznik (chant, guitare), Robby Takac (basse, chœurs) et Mike Malinin (batterie), ils ont atteint la renommée internationale avec le single "Iris", bande originale du film City of Angels (1998). Le morceau a dominé les classements musicaux mondiaux et a contribué à consolider l'image des Goo Goo Dolls comme l'une des formations rock les plus populaires des années 90. Leur style musical est caractérisé par des mélodies accrocheuses, des paroles introspectives et un mélange d'éléments pop-rock et alternatifs. Parmi leurs albums les plus notables figurent "Dizzy Up the Girl" (1998), "Let Love In" (2003) et "Something for Everyone" (2010). J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
