Nuclear Assault è stata una band statunitense di thrash metal e crossover thrash, attiva dal 1984 al 1996. Considerati uno dei pionieri del genere crossover thrash, hanno combinato l'energia del thrash metal con influenze punk rock e hardcore. La loro musica era caratterizzata da riff veloci e aggressivi, testi politici e sociali, e un sound potente e distorto. Tra i brani più noti figurano "Brain Death", "Hang the Pope" e "The Price of Peace". Il gruppo ha pubblicato cinque album in studio, tra cui il debutto omonimo del 1986 e l'acclamato "Handle with Care" del 1989. Nuclear Assault è stata una band influente nel panorama musicale underground degli anni '80 e '90, contribuendo a definire lo stile crossover thrash.
