Mike Doughty è un cantautore e musicista statunitense nato a New York nel 1965. Noto per il suo stile musicale eclettico che fonde folk, rock alternativo, hip hop e jazz, Doughty ha costruito una solida reputazione come artista indipendente. Iniziò la sua carriera negli anni '90 con la band Soul Coughing, raggiungendo un notevole successo con album come "Ruby Vroom" (1994) e "Stairs and Elevators" (1998). Dopo lo scioglimento del gruppo nel 2000, Doughty ha intrapreso una carriera solista di grande successo, pubblicando album apprezzati dalla critica come "Haughty Melodic" (2005), "Golden Delicious" (2007) e "The Imperfectly Perfect World of Mike Doughty" (2018).
