Kurtis Blow, né Kurtis Walker à New York en 1959, est un rappeur, producteur de disques, DJ et ministre américain. Considéré comme le premier rappeur à connaître un succès commercial, il a signé avec Mercury Records en 1979, ouvrant la voie à d'autres artistes hip-hop. Son single "The Breaks", extrait de son album éponyme de 1980, est devenu la première chanson rap certifiée disque d'or dans l'histoire de la musique hip-hop. Blow a collaboré avec des artistes comme Grandmaster Flash et Run-DMC, contribuant à définir l'évolution du genre.
