Statik Selektah, de son vrai nom Patrick Baril, est un DJ, producteur de disques et animateur radio américain né à New York en 1980. Considéré comme l'un des piliers de la scène hip-hop underground américaine, Statik Selektah se distingue par son style de production caractérisé par des échantillons vintage et des rythmes old-school avec des influences jazz et funk. Sa carrière musicale a débuté dans les années 1990 en tant que DJ dans des clubs de New York, collaborant avec des artistes émergents du paysage hip-hop. En 2003, il a sorti son premier album, "The Green Tape", qui lui a valu une réputation de producteur talentueux et créatif. Depuis lors, Statik Selektah a travaillé avec certains des plus grands noms du hip-hop, notamment Action Bronson, Joey Bada$$, Sean Price et Freddie Gibbs. Parmi ses albums les plus notables figurent "The Best of Both Worlds" (2013) et "What Goes Around" (2017).
