Fabolous, de son vrai nom John David Jackson, est un rappeur et acteur américain né à Brooklyn, New York, en 1978. Actif depuis 2000, il s'est imposé comme l'un des rappeurs les plus influents de sa génération grâce à son style caractérisé par des rimes complexes et des paroles intelligentes qui explorent souvent des thèmes de la vie quotidienne, de l'amour et du succès. Son album de début, *Ghetto Stories*, sorti en 2001, a atteint le disque d'or et l'a consacré comme l'une des nouvelles étoiles du rap. J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
