Becky G, de son vrai nom Rebbeca Marie Gomez, est une chanteuse et actrice américaine née à Los Angeles en 1997. Elle a commencé sa carrière musicale en publiant des vidéos musicales sur YouTube à l'âge de 13 ans. En 2011, elle a signé avec Kemosabe Records et en 2014, elle a connu son premier succès international avec le single "Shower". J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
