Immortal Technique, de son vrai nom Felipe Coronel, est un rappeur et activiste américain d'origine péruvienne. Né à New York en 1979 de parents péruviens, il a déménagé dans plusieurs villes des États-Unis pendant son enfance. Sa musique se caractérise par des paroles politiquement et socialement engagées qui abordent des thèmes tels que la guerre, le racisme, la pauvreté et l'oppression. Influencé par des artistes comme Public Enemy et Tupac Shakur, Immortal Technique a développé un style de rap brut et incisif, souvent accompagné de beats sombres et atmosphériques. Son album de début est sorti en 2001 sous le titre "Revolutionary Vol. 1", suivi d'autres œuvres réussies telles que "The 3rd World" (2003) et "Welcome to America" (2009). Outre la musique, Immortal Technique se consacre également à l'activisme social, participant à des manifestations et promouvant la sensibilisation aux problèmes sociaux. J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
