Steve Poltz è un cantautore, chitarrista e armonicista canadese nato a Winnipeg nel 1968. Dopo aver trascorso parte dell'infanzia in California, si trasferisce a San Diego dove inizia la sua carriera musicale negli anni '90. Conosciuto per il suo stile folk-rock caratterizzato da testi introspettivi e melodie orecchiabili, Poltz ha collaborato con artisti come Jewel e The Weepies. Il suo album di debutto, "The Steve Poltz Album", risale al 1997. Tra i suoi brani più noti figurano "You're Gonna Be Famous", "I'm Not Your Man" e "My Heart Is a Drum".
