Russ Ballard (nato Russell Glyn Ballard) è un cantautore e musicista britannico nato nel 1946. Iniziò la sua carriera negli anni '60 come membro del gruppo rock progressivo The New Vaudeville Band, con cui ottenne successo internazionale con il singolo "Winchester Cathedral". Dopo lo scioglimento del gruppo, Ballard si dedicò alla carriera solista, scrivendo e producendo canzoni per altri artisti, tra cui Meat Loaf, Elton John e Bonnie Tyler. Ha raggiunto la fama mondiale come autore di brani come "I Surrender", interpretato da Bonnie Tyler, che ha dominato le classifiche mondiali nel 1983. Tra i suoi album più noti si annovera "The Fire in Your Heart" (1976). Ballard continua a scrivere e registrare musica, collaborando con artisti di diverse generazioni.
