Les Magnetic Fields sont un groupe musical américain formé à New York dans les années 1990. Le groupe est dirigé par le chanteur-compositeur Stephin Merritt, qui écrit presque toutes les chansons et interprète la plupart des musiques. La formation comprend Claudia Gonson, Sam Davol et John Woo. Merritt est connu pour son style musical éclectique, qui s'étend du pop au folk, du rock indépendant à la musique classique. Les Magnetic Fields sont célèbres pour leur album *69 Love Songs*, un projet monumental composé de 69 chansons d'amour sur divers thèmes et styles musicaux. Parmi les titres les plus représentatifs du groupe figurent "The Book of Love", "Absolutely Cuckoo" et "I Don't Want to Get Over You". Merritt a collaboré avec l'écrivain Lemony Snicket, auteur de la célèbre série de romans pour enfants *Une série d'événements malheureux*.

J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
