Ketil Bjørnstad est un compositeur et pianiste norvégien né en 1948. Considéré comme l'un des musiciens les plus influents de la scène jazz scandinave, Bjørnstad a exploré une large gamme de genres musicaux, du jazz au folk en passant par la musique classique. Sa musique se caractérise par des mélodies évocatrices, des harmonies complexes et une atmosphère introspective. Bjørnstad a collaboré avec de nombreux artistes internationaux, notamment Jan Garbarek, Terje Rypdal et Marilyn Mazur. Parmi ses albums les plus importants figurent "The First Day of Spring" (1978), "Ketil Bjørnstad Plays The Music of Erik Satie" (1980) et "Songs from the North" (2003). Certains de ses morceaux les plus représentatifs incluent "Solstice", "The Garden" et "Northern Lights".
