Jim Jones est un guitariste américain né à Cleveland, Ohio. Il est surtout connu pour son travail avec le groupe post-punk Pere Ubu, avec lequel il a collaboré de 1975 à 1980 et par intermittence jusqu'en 2000. Jones était l'un des membres fondateurs du groupe et a contribué à définir leur son expérimental et innovant, caractérisé par des influences du noise rock, du krautrock et de l'avant-garde. Outre son travail avec Pere Ubu, Jones a également collaboré avec d'autres artistes indépendants et a sorti quelques albums solo. Parmi les morceaux les plus représentatifs de Jim Jones avec Pere Ubu, on peut citer "Street Waves", "Final Solution" et "Non-Alignment Pact".
