Toad the Wet Sprocket est un groupe de folk rock américain formé en 1986 à Santa Barbara, en Californie. Les membres fondateurs sont le chanteur Glen Phillips, le guitariste Todd Nichols, le bassiste Dean Dinning et le batteur Randy Guss. Leur son se caractérise par des mélodies accrocheuses, des paroles introspectives et une atmosphère mélancolique mais réconfortante. Parmi les chansons les plus célèbres du groupe figurent "Walk on the Ocean", "All I Want" et "Good Intentions". Ils ont sorti huit albums studio, dont leur album éponyme de début (1991) et l'album à succès "Fear" (1994). Toad the Wet Sprocket a contribué à définir la scène folk rock des années 90 et continue d'être apprécié pour sa musique émouvante et authentique.

J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
