Ultramagnetic MC's est un groupe de hip-hop basé à New York, formé en 1984. Considérés comme des pionniers du hip-hop alternatif, ils sont connus pour leur style innovant et expérimental qui mélange des éléments de funk, jazz et rock. Le groupe a compté parmi ses membres Ced Gee, DJ Moe Love et Kool Keith, ce dernier également célèbre pour sa carrière solo. Parmi leurs albums les plus importants figurent *Critical Beatdown* (1988), considéré comme un classique du genre, et *The Four Horsemen* (1990). Certains de leurs titres les plus représentatifs incluent "Funk Your Head Up", "Kool Keith's Rap" et "Smack My Bitch Up". J'ai l'impression qu'avant d'aborder le sujet traité dans cet article je dois faire une prémisse: le reggaeton n'est pas vraiment mon genre préféré, il se réfugie dans un rythme très banal avec des textes que 99% du temps décrivent la femme comme un objet disponible à l'homme macho.
