In the late 90s, Jimmy Eat World introduced mainstream music listeners to the genre tag "emo" with their brand of sensitive pop-punk. Though that term now suggests other stigmatised meanings, they are still seen as the fathers of emo, with Clarity (1999) often considered the paradigmatic emo album. Bigger commercial success came with Bleed American (2001) which was re-titled Jimmy Eat World after the 9/11 attacks. It included their biggest hit single, "The Middle", which got to No.5 on the Hot 100 and made an impression in the UK too. Jimmy Eat World's latest album was Chase This Light, which was released in 2007 to mixed reviews.
